Instead of relying on a Snapchat filter or tagging your location, find this handpainted gem in downtown Blue Ridge to snag your “I was here” photo. Advertising organizations like Serenberry Vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association.
Coca Cola Mural
Also located in Downtown Blue Ridge, the Coco Cola mural located at the end of East Main Street on the side of the Fly Fishing shop. Fun fact: Coca-Cola hand-painted murals are making a comeback with the revitalization of Main Streets across the country. Coca-Cola painted wall signs were one of the earliest forms of advertising, dating back to the 1890s, according to Phillip Mooney, director of Coca-Cola archives for 35 years. Owners of properties around the country often rented wall space to advertisers like Coca-Cola. In 1910, approximately 25 percent of the company’s entire advertising budget was devoted to wall signs. Amicalola Falls
A nature lover’s wonderland, it’s only 8 miles from the Appalachian Trail and within the Chattahoochee National Forest. The park is named after its most treasured feature, Amicalola Falls – a magnificent 729-foot waterfall that’s the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Mercier Orchards is a family & veteran-owned and operated apple orchard now in its 4th generation. The Folk Collaborative
The Folk Collaborative is a cool place located in McCaysville, GA - an orchard, an apothecary, and a bakery all in one place. You could spend half a day here, so be prepared to learn a lot about mountain medicine and herbal remedies, eat yummy baked goods, and benefit from the orchard's pickings.
TN/GA Line
McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, TN are picturesque mountain towns at the GA/TN state border, nestled along the Toccoa River which becomes the Ocoee River as it flows northward. Come stand in two states at one time, following the little blue line throughout the town, or the perfect photo opp as shown above.
Bridge Street Bridge
Built in 1928, the camelback truss that joins both rivers is one of the infamous industrial attractions in this copper city. The Toccoa River flows through the center of town, changing its name to the Ocoee River as it crosses into Tennessee. These communities are united by the famous steel-truss bridge that was once located along the Toccoa River in Blue Ridge, GA but then disassembled and reassembled upstream here in this beautiful city. One of the highlights of vacationing and visiting attractions in Blue Ridge, GA is the chance to take a step back in time and ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway along the Toccoa River to Copperhill, TN/McCaysville, GA - sister towns split by the Georgia-Tennessee border. The depot is located in Downtown Blue Ridge, and stays stationed there unless running - almost always guaranteeing the perfect opportunity to smile and share your encounter with this cool train system. Bell Mountain Summit
The Hal Herrin Estate graciously donated the 18 acre Bell Mountain Summit to Towns County and on February 18, 2016 was formally named Bell Mountain Park and Historical Site and the observation deck erected was named and dedicated as the Hal Herrin Scenic Overlook. Thereafter the County paved the road, established a parking area, and in addition to the Hal Herrin Scenic Overlook erected a 2nd platform rising to 3424 foot of elevation offering 360 degree views of the surrounding lake and mountains.
